As your representative, I will be committed to securing the funding that the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the EPA need to facilitate cleaning up this site.
According to the Mo DNR representative, there is a cost sharing mechanism between the state of Missouri and the EPA when it comes to cleaning up these issues. Once the site gets put on the National Priority List, the State needs to agree to pay for 10% of the cleanup.
We need to take care of our neighbors in the affected area and get rid of the harmful chemicals that can lead to serious health problems, including very severe forms of cancer. I know everyone out there wants to make sure we live healthy, happy, productive lives – I know I can count on your support in making sure this is cleaned up properly.
