Most of what we do in life is in service to others. We build families and communities with an understanding that together we are better than the sum of our parts. In that spirit, our forefathers created a federal government to do the following:
Ensure Domestic Tranquility
Provide for the Common Defense
Promote the General Welfare
Leadership is more than just making decisions; it’s about being involved with your local community and fellow man. Together, we can build a state and federal government we want. Because the government derives its power from one source:
I BELIEVE that rights are not granted by a government, but that governments should exist to protect those rights.
I BELIEVE in Missourian ingenuity, built on boundless determination and faith in our neighbors.
I BELIEVE that Government power comes from the will and determination of the citizenry, and that they work for everyone, not an elite few.
I BELIEVE that local governance is a vital piece of the makeup of our state, and that it deserves to be respected as a voice for citizens.
I BELIEVE that single-minded adherence to party ideology is bad for Government, and removes the individual from the act of Governance.
I COMMEND those in our government who work for the betterment of all citizens, especially those who strive to cross party lines and actively engage in open discussion with those who hold different views.
I CRITICIZE those who believe that a single party has the best interest for all citizens. Missouri’s diversity is a strength, and we are better when we have imaginative, lively debate over a range of topics.
I ENCOURAGE each person to empathize with your neighbor, and seek first to understand, rather than condem.
I BELIEVE that our best days are ahead of us, and that together we will bring a brighter future to Missourians.
